It has been sometime since I have sat down and written a proper favourites post but during the month of April there have been so many things that I have been really enjoying using that I figured sitting down and bashing out a little post on them would be worthwhile. Who knows, I might help you to discover an amazing new product that you didn’t know about?
All in, April was a pretty good month. A lot of fun was had and many a good thing happened for not only myself but people that I am close to in my life. Exciting times all round. For my April Favourites, I didn’t just want to focus on beauty products because that hasn’t been the only genre of goods that I have had stand out loves for this month. With this in mind, this post is just a big ol’ mish mash of things that I have been loving.
Lip liner has normally been something I have only ever used when I’m wearing a bold lip that is until now… I have recently realised the importance of a liner underneath a nude lipstick. It really does increase the longevity of your lipstick and makes your lips look fuller without actually getting anything done. Winning.
In April, I have been loving combining the Maybelline Colour Sensational liner in number 10 Nude Whisper with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in number 10 Don’t pink of it. It makes a perfect pinky-nude that it a your lips but better. It is really wearable and perfect for everyday. It even looks great teamed with my normal black kohled eyeliner look.
The shoes : ASOS TRUE TIME Lace Up Sandals
Not only were these a bargain sale find at £17.50 but they are also incredibly comfortable to wear all day to work. The True time lace up sandals are pretty classic but wiht a nice little bit of detail in the lace up fronts. I love these with black jeans, a cami and a leather jacket. Perfect Spring outfit.
The cleanser : Khiels Ultra Facial Cleanser
Trying out new skincare is one of my favourite pass times, is that sad?
I picked up the Khiels Ultra Facial Cleanser on a whim when I was getting my new mascara and let me tell you, this stuff is bloody brilliant. It is very gentle on the skin but really cleans deep into your pores without trying your skin out. This is a major tick for me because my skin is pretty sensitive. I have finished this tube now and I will 100% be picking up another tube.
The read : ‘Seven ages of Paris’ by Alistair Horne
Seven ages of Paris was a book I picked up after hearing it being talked about on the podcast The Land of Desire (read more about this here.) The book goes tells the story of how Paris changed over 7 ages (funny that!) from the Middle Ages to De Gaulle. It is a really easy to read book which you wouldn’t think it would be as it is a non-fiction book about the History of Paris but trust me, once you pick this up you will not want to be put it down. It is incredibly well written and is really informative.
What have been your favourites in April?
