For the last 9 or so months I have been a full on devotee to the Loreal True Match foundation. It was my everyday, go to foundation for any occasion. Being the fickle make up lover that I am, I wanted to try something different. Play the field a little bit and see what else was out there on the foundation circuit.
While in Superdrug I picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, this isn’t an entirely new foundation to me. In my final year at university this was a staple in my base routine so I kind of new what to expect. If I am being honest, I don’t know why I decided to wander away from this foundation. It is a really great product. When it comes to my base make up, I like a medium to build-able natural finish. Healthy Mix gives you just that. I go a couple of shades darker than my natural skin tone because I love a bit of fake tan and then pick up a shade that matches my natural skintone for times when I’m not the colour of teak!
To go along with the foundation I also picked up a new offering: Bourjois Radiance reveal concealer. Words cannot describe the wonderful-ness (it’s a word…) of this little tube of joy. It is really brightening under the eyes and doesn’t crease which can be quite a big issue for me. Issue – it’s only concealer under my eyes. I was also after a setting power and Superdrug luckily has 3 for 2 on so I naturally took advantage! The final product I picked up was the Java Rice powder. Powder products have always been something I have been a little bit wary of, I somehow always ended up feeling cake-y and like I am wearing a mask. The Java rice powder however is absolutely beautiful. It is very fine and really lifts your complexion leaving it with a healthy glow and not an ounce of cake in sight.
