I’ve been experimenting with makeup a little bit more as of late because I realised I have a crap tonne of makeup and a lot of it I don’t use. Experimenting may be a slight exaggeration but I have been trying out different products I have hoarded away and have found some total dream boats.
I’ve had Peach Club in my lipstick drawer for quite a while now and always seemed to pass by it when going to wear a more bold lip. I thought it would be too orange and a bit too bold. Well that was an error on my part.
First off, the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks are my all-time favourite liquid lipsticks. The formula is really long lasting and they dry down to a nice matte finish that doesn’t feel cakey on the lips. Peach Club is a lovely vibrant shade that sits between orange and pink but is the right side of orange. I love this colour, teaming it with a striped top is a nice change from the normal matte red I would go for if I felt like jazzing up a simple outfit.
I bought this on a long weekend to Manchester at the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Selfridges as Edinburgh doesn’t have a counter – boo hoo!
Initially I wasn’t so keen on this lipstick, I found the colour a bit awkward and the way it wore a little bit off. Maybe it was to do with my hair colour or the I just wasn’t into pink based nudes at the time. That put safely into the past, this has become an everyday staple. It looks great with a subtle flick of smokey liner or just with a few coats of mascara. I love teaming it with the matching lip liner of the same name for that full on Pillow Talk nude lip.
The Nail Polishes
My love of nude nail polishes only started recently but so far I’m loving it! Organdi is a beautiful nude pink shade that makes your hands look gorgeous! It really lengthens your fingers and just looks put together without looking like you’ve made loads of effort.
It is slightly pricey for a nail polish but is a great treat yo’ self moment!
Hunting for the perfect orange red? Get yourself a bottle of Fifth Avenue from Essie. This is a great bright and bold orange-red that is super long lasting on the nails. I do 2 coats and then Seche Vite on top for staying power and shine.
The Bathroom Product
This is a bit of a random one but as random as it is, it is also a really great shower product. Picked up on a whim while browsing the shelves of Boots, this mousse is great for just your general washing but also to use to shave. It doesn’t sting and leaves your legs nice and smooth.
