Being critical isn’t healthy

There has been a time in everyones lives’ when the little negative voice in the back of your head has started to yell a little louder with negative, critical comments that are probably the most useless thoughts you have ever heard/had. The things that is important to remember about these voices is that they aren’t actually you or your voice. They say things that you would never dream of saying to yourself or to anyone else for that matter but still the voice keeps wanging on.
Hearing negative comments and constant put downs both internally or externally will ware you down. Self doubt will creep in and you will no doubt end up feeling shit about yourself, second guessing everything and generally retreating into your shell.

Take some time for yourself: When you are feeling low it is important to take a step back otherwise you will feel overwhelmed. Take some time to do something you really enjoy doing. Whether that is painting your nails, sitting down to read your book or watch your favourite film – just do it! Shut yourself off for an hour, you’ll feel much better.
Silence the negative with a positive: Easier said than done, I know but when you have negative comments flying round your head it can be really useful to just throw out a positive. Telling yourself that you aren’t smart enough, throw the thought around your head that well you graduated uni or got an A in an exam. Counter the negative.
Feeling constantly put down by your own negative thoughts can be really draining, I know that as much as anyone. It can be really hard to overcome but when you do start to argue against them you will start to feel so much better.
