Autumn is not far off now, unless we get hit with an Indian Summer before September finishes up then we are on the road to chillier weather, the leaves changing colour and the nights getting darker earlier. Late last week I spoke about the Pre-Autumn Edit for fashion and this week I am moving on to another love of mine – beauty! Much like Autumn fashion, when it comes to Autumn beauty you can go down a totally different route that than of summer. Gone are the bright, coral lips and vibrant nail polishes. Step forth dark nails, plum lips and beautiful matte bases. Of course, you can continue wacking on the bright, vibrant shades of your favourite products in Autumn but I love deep shades in Autumn. Hell, I just bloody love Autumn!
Now that you have your ankle boots in check and that scarf for when it turns a little nippy, it is time to dust off your products that have not seen too much love over the warmer months or head to Boots to stock up on some new pre-Autumn treats.

I was always a foundation all year round kind of girl for a really long time. I would never venture into the land of tinted moisturisers until this summer when I adopted using as lighter base. This habit wont be lasting into pre-Autumn. Foundation is a staple when your skin is seeing less sunshine and the heating is doing its best to dry out your little smoosh. I already have dry skin as it is so I like to continue to use a foundation that is giving all day moisturise while also giving an even base. Find something that meets the needs of your skin as well as the needs of your day and you will be cruising into Autumn with a flawless face.
My Foundation pick for Pre-Autumn: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Now you’ve got a beautiful flawless face, it is time to have some fun. During Autumn I love putting on a dark plum or bordeaux red lipstick, it is the perfect season for it. With a flawless base and a coat of mascara a vampy lip looks incredible. Teamed with a leather biker jacket it is the perfect look for day to night. It would be rude not to rock that statement lip day and night in Autumn.
My Lipstick pick for Pre-Autumn – the plum: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Plum Plum Girl
My Lipstick pick for Pre-Autumn – the dark red: MAC Liptensity Lipstick in Mulling Spices
When it comes to a dark nail I am an any season type of gal but I know a lot of people aren’t keen on a dark nail in the height of Summer which is fair enough. In my opinion, a dark nail just adds to the vampy look that is probably one of my favourites of Autumn. An almost black nail is really flattering on the hands without having the same harsh effect that a true black polish can have.
