The cross body bag

Cross body bags are a bit of a new love for me. Whenever I attempted to use the cute, chic and convenient sister of the full size handbag I very rarely got past the door of my flat. It just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t stuff my bag full of the usual nonsense I felt I had to hump about with me. Lately the tide has changed and I have completely embraced the cross body bag the fashion gals of this world love so much. This makes me one of those fashion gals, right?

Despite being a small bag-phobe I do have a good few in my wardrobe. If I am being honest probably too many for somebody that claims not to like them. Classic behaviour. As I said the tides has changed and I am embracing the dinky cross body bag. When I am writing this it has been three days, not that long but longer than any previous dalliance has lasted therefore I take this as a win. In fact the bug has bitten me with such ferocious power that I spend many an internet break searching ASOS, Topshop, Zara and anywhere else I can think of to browse the cross body bag offerings out there.image1

While browsing I landed on River Island, not a shop I am a regular in but bags seem to be a bit of a sweet spot for this High street retailer. The result of my River Island based internet break – the green velvet snake skin mini handbag. I know, I had palpitations as well. It is pretty teeny tiny but looks more expensive than the £18 price tag and would be perfect with an all black outfit for drinks or for daily use if you don’t feel like you need to carry about everything and the kitchen sink!
