Travel: Dublin #2

The day after Tyler and Kate. Our first, and only, full day in Dublin without travelling. The Friday night we were both pretty exhausted after an early flight, afternoon drinking and the excitement of the concert so we decided to take ourselves back to our hotel (The Beresford) and get to our beds. The next morning we had our breakfast and headed towards O’Connell Street where we jumped on to a 10 Euro tour bus. This took us all round the City. We saw Oscar Wilde’s house, The Leinster rugby team home ground, Dublin Castle among a whole load of other sights. With the 10 Euro ticket, you can jump on and off the bus which is great so we decided to jump off at the Guinness Storehouse at St James Gate.

This was a really interesting tour and we are both now certified pint pullers. Oh yes! The tour finished up with a pint of Guinness in the Sky bar there. After we had finished at Guinness, we hopped back on the tour bus and saw the rest of the tour. Stops included Phoenix Park which included the Presidents house. Casual. As well as Kilmainham prison which sadly was full and we couldn’t go along to but next time we shall be there.

Once we got back to the City Centre, we decided to head to Murphy’s for dinner before heading back to The Auld Dubliner for more pints of Magners and more live music. It was a swell night. Lots of laughs and singing along.
