There is a lot of uncertainty and changes to 'everyday' life at the moment. Like everyone else, I think, I have my good days and my bad days. Somedays it is fine, you get on with it and then other days you just feel lost and fall into negative thought patterns.

With this in mind, I am trying to get into a new routine. One that is similar to my 'normal' routine but adapted to fit the current situation.

Skincare has become a a part of my routine that I am trying very hard to continue to do as I would if things were normal.

The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser £5.50/£13.95

The cleanser dreams are made of. Yep, you read that right.

For a long time I was very much in love with the Your Good Skin Comforting Gel cleanser - which I still love, don't get me wrong - but since trying out the Squalane cleanser from The Ordinary, my head has been turned.

The packaging is the basic The Ordinary package that you would expect which if I'm being honest, I quite like. It is sleek and modern and not fussy. Who needs fussy packaging on a cleanser?

The Squalane Cleanser comes in a 50ml tube across most retailers however there are a select few such as Look Fantastic and Beauty Bay that sell a larger tube. Generally I go for the larger tube because 50ml for a cleanser just isn't very many face washes!

The product is an oil-based, cream-balm that you massage onto dry skin and then once the product meets water it turns into a milk consistency that you rinse off. The Squalance cleanser left my skinn feeling plump, hydrated and clean. Generally I have been using this as nighttime cleanser, to remove all makeup - including Benefit Bad Gal Bang which I find impossible to remove! After a few days of use, I can see a difference in the texture of my skin, softer and definitely clearer. I think this is probably because my skin is getting a good cleanse.

Pixi Glow Tonic 5% Glycolic Acid £18

Pixi Glow Tonic has become something of a cult product in recent years. This 5% Glycolic toner gently exfoliates to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin glowy. The packaging says the Glow Tonic can be used twice daily however depending on how senstive your skin is, I would be cautious.

I use this product in the evening every other night and have notcied a big difference in my skin. My skin is less dull, looks clearer and it has helped fade some old acne scars.

Revolution Skincare Salicylic Acid £7.95

When it comes to fighting spots, I've tried plenty a products. From toners, spot patches to creams. I've found things that have worked but nothing that I've felt I really had to repurchase incase of a breakout.

That is until I came across the Salicylic Acid from Revolution Skincare. I love the products from the Revolution makeup brands and felt confident in dipping my toe into the pool of their skincare. Didn't regret it, let me tell you.

Salicylic acid is know for its spot fighting powers and this 2% little bottle fights them like nothing else. I use this topically and just dab onto my blemish. I find that by the morning, the blemish has calmed down a lot. The redness and anger is taken out of the spot and it is definitely less obvious that there is a big ol' pimple on my face.
